17th July 2020  Covid -19

GP Practices have remained open throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic.  Urgent medical problems are still dealt with by GPs, nurses and other staff.  As we move into a phased recovery, most medical services will start to come back in stream, but this does not, and cannot mean a return to normal.  Just as the supermarket, the coffee shop and the office is a very different place, so too is the GP surgery.  Much of what you may need to contact the surgery about can be dealt with without attending there, so people across the country are being asked to phone or email first, with telephone or video calls arranged, and only those who need face to face contact are asked to attend to keep you and others safe with as few people as possible in the buildings.  Because it's likely that those  attending will have health problems, it's even more important to ensure safety than it is in the supermarket or office so staff will wear PPE, and you will be asked to wear a face covering/mask.  Contact will be kept to a minimum for everyone's safety but despite this each appointment needs to be longer, and flow through the buildings will be controlled, and waiting rooms will seem very different.  The way they are delivered will stay changed for a very long time to come.  We all need to feel safe when we use the NHS and need our NHS staff to be safe.

Face Coverings

Please remember when attending surgery for a face to face appointment to wear a face covering or face mask and to come to the appointment on your own where possible.  If you need to be accompanied to an appointment please ensure it is only 1 other person. Thank you!

Welcome to Cove Bay and Kincorth Medical Centre

There has been a GP practice in Kincorth since the first houses were built in the late 1940s.  Over the years since then the practice has developed along with growth in the city generally.

The non-limited partnership of Kincorth Medical Practice is contracted by Grampian Primary Care NHS Trust to provide general medical services to patients and we now look after over 13,200 patients. Patients can be seen at either of our surgeries.

Video Consultations

Our GPs are using Attend Anywhere (also known as NHS Near Me) for video consultations.  This enables you to have a secure video appointment with your GP or other clinicians.  It's a very welcome innovation in the current climate - click here to watch a demonstration video -  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcIVPp-Wolc

Please see the link below to our Near Me (Virtual) waiting room - please only click on this link if you have an arranged appointment. You will have access to the virtual waiting room at all times but without an appointment from the GP, no one will connect with you for a consultation.

Minor Ailment Service

From the 23rd March, the community pharmacy Minor Ailment Service is being extended to allow anyone registered with a GP practice, who has a minor illness or a common condition, to speak to a member of the pharmacy team for advice and treatment without the need to see their GP.

HGV Medicals

If you require a medical including an HGV medical please seek an alternative provider during the Covid -19 pandemic as the practice is unable to do these at present.
